Fridays are for introducing the newest Tipp City Foundation Board Members.
Today, we are introducing Susan Kuntz. Susan is a long time Tipp City resident, and i a retired elementary art teacher. While she is new to the Tipp City Foundation, many of you are already familiar with her formidable talent, as she created the incredible artwork for last year's Annual Report.

Susan's favorite quotes:
“ When nothing is sure, everything is possible” —Margaret Drabble
“You can always tell someone to go to hell tomorrow!” —Warren Buffet

The person in Susan's life who has influenced her : "I think my Mom was a big influence on how I try to carry myself in the world. She was
very clear about owning my actions, good or bad, as a way to be true to and truthful with myself. If I could correct mistakes, ask for forgiveness, be forgiving, then I could take pride also in my victories/ accomplishments. We humans are not all one thing or
another."
The person who inspires Susan now: "My wife Ginny is the best example of joy and generosity I have in my life. She embraces each day with gratefulness for being alive that I would like to emulate. She brings a smiling welcome to strangers, with questions that pull them in and make them feel a part of things. She is the first one on the dance floor and the last one off. My mind often races with projecting the “what ifs”, trying to prepare for obstacles that haven’t even presented themselves, and Ginny just gets on with it.
The advice Susan would give to a young person today:
"Aside from the obvious, “put your phone down”, I would give advice I heard in an
interview with James Taylor. He said, “you have to defend your right to have a long
thought.” I take from that, that it’s okay to immerse yourself in something, walk away
from it, let your ideas percolate and come back fresh perspective or inspiration. In this current time of speed and immediacy, I think being able to linger with a project or idea, and have the opportunity to revisit it with fresh eyes, a new direction, or even
perseverance, is crucial. Sometimes the process is what helps us evolve, not just
getting it done.."

What serving on the Tipp City Foundation means to Susan: "It means giving back. It means helping to maintain what makes Tipp the lovely community that it is; to continue the legacy of helping people with good hearts and good ideas do good things for all the residents of Tipp."

~Grants in Action~ Tipp City Foundation volunteers were excited to visit Tippecanoe High School's Video Production class to see the direct impact of a recent grant which helped purchase more cameras and accessories to support student learning in the studio. Previous Tipp Foundation grants also helped strengthen the program through the purchase of equipment such as a large camera and teleprompter.
Tipp City Foundation members Bill Wendell, Julie Taylor, Jim Ranft, Julia Watson, Richard Bender, Sarah Gillenwater, Renee Matsunami and Joellen Heatherly joined Superintendent Aaron Moran for a visit to the studio and were impressed with the creativity and opportunity the grant has supported.

Attention Area Non-Profit Organizations!!!!

Project T.I.P.P is now accepting grant requests to support new and/or existing programs that address the needs of our community. There is a $500.00 maximum grant amount available to any one organization. Applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 P.M. on Sunday May 17, 2026

Grant applications are processed through the online portal of The Troy Foundation using the following link: https://tippfoundation.org/how-to-apply-for-a-project-t-i-p-p-grant/

The Tipp City Foundation is pleased to continue its collaboration with the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce by providing grants through the Tipp City Teen Leadership Academy. The program will take place June 1-5. The intent of the program is to provide incoming Tipp City and Bethel high school seniors with experiences that will develop leadership skills and a lifelong commitment to community engagement. The Mission of the Tipp City Teen Leadership Academy is "Connecting Teens to Community". It is our hope that the financial assistance in the form of these small grants will be of help to our area non-profits. We thank you in advance for your time in preparing a grant application and for your part in making this a meaningful experience for our youth.

Project T.I.P.P. is the grant making portion of the Teen Leadership Academy program and is funded by the Tipp City Foundation. Students participating in the program will become familiar with our community non-profit organizations and the impact of the services they provide our citizens. The goal is to give the teens the knowledge to identify community needs and the experience will encourage them to engage their time, treasure and talent now as well as influence their future commitment to volunteerism and meaningful philanthropy in the communities where they will live.
