A big shout out to Brandon Cox of Royal Crest Agency Insurance (one of sponsors!) who shared some awesome drone photos of the Tipp City Foundation's Tree Grove in Kyle Park.
The Tipp City Foundation Tree Grove honors and recognizes the foundation’s endowment funds and began in 2018 as an investment in the community. Many of the trees are purchased from the Lucille Millner Trees for Tipp Fund and acts as a living celebration of the endowment funds.
Tipp City plants three or four trees each year in the grove with help from Tony Hunt, the Tipp City Public Works Superintendent. Community members that have started an endowment fund get to choose a grove tree, made up of maples, oaks, lilacs, and linden trees to place a charm on. The charm bears their endowment fund’s title and the year it started. As of this year, 67 trees wear a charm, representing the 67 endowment funds that make the Tipp City Foundation possible.

Last week, the Tipp City Teen Leadership Academy welcomed 4 Tipp City High School students to the Tipp City Foundation Youth Philanthropy program. Madelynn Lopez, Nolan Reynolds, Griffin Federle and Penelope Bathgate spent this transformative week meeting with local government and business entities and learning more about local philanthropy. Additionally, the students mulched around every tree in the Tipp City Foundation tree grove at Kyle Park as their service project.
The students reviewed 18 grant requests for a total of $9,000 and had to decide how to distribute the $5,000 the Tipp City Foundation had allocated. Tipp City Foundation leader Jim Ranft led the discussion and distribution process with the teens, who ultimately awarded 11 grants to 9 agencies totaling $5,000.
On the final day of the Leadership Academy, every agency receiving a grant sent a representative to the Tipp Center where the teens presented them with their award. This phenomenal program highlights the long term impact the Tipp City Foundation creates with your support. Teaching youth people the value of service, giving back and supporting local efforts is ensuring the engagement of the next generation. A big thank you to the Tipp City Foundation Board President, Richard Bender for his dedication and tireless work to make this week a successful and meaningful experience for the students involved.
Congratulations to these four outstanding young citizens, and the to the agencies who were awarded grants. We are honored to be a part of building Tipp City's future.
We look forward to celebrating these students again this fall at our annual gala.

The Tipp City Foundation, along with representatives from the Troy Foundation, met on Monday to review and vote on grant funding for many local organizations, and when the work was done, the fun began. Family members and Emeritus TCF Board Member Jackie Wahl joined us for an amazing meal hosted by TCF Board member Glen McMurray.
A big thanks to Glen and his lovely family for providing all the smoked meats to accompany all the yummy sides. Time spent with building connection, honoring service and laughing together strengthen our work and enable us to work more effectively to impact our community.
How grateful we are to be a part of this group!

While graduation ceremonies have come and gone, the opportunities to recognize and celebrate the Class of 2026 continue! A big shout out to Bethel High School scholarship recipients Connor McElroy who won the Tipp City Rotary scholarship, Eli Lammers who won the John S. & Louise T. Miller scholarship and Samantha Stoff who won the Robert E. Nessle scholarship. Each of these scholarships are administered through the Tipp City Foundation, and recognize and support local students.
